about gui
Nutritionist, B.S. Nutrition
I grew up overweight in Brazil. By 13, I already had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and prediabetes — problems most people don’t face until middle age. I was also dealing with depression and low self-esteem, though at the time I didn’t fully understand why I felt the way I did.
At 14, I joined a local gym. Nothing special — a treadmill that required real effort and a rack of weights. But I started learning. Forums, books, magazines, anything I could find about nutrition and the body. Within months, my bloodwork improved. I lost weight, gained energy, and the depression started to lift.
“I realized then that food had been the problem — and could also be the solution.”
By the end of high school, I knew what I wanted to study. At 18, I enrolled in a nutrition program, working full-time during the day and studying at night for five years. College taught me more than how the body works. It taught me how to see people clearly — that there’s always more to someone’s story than what’s on their plate.
In 2015, I moved to the United States. It took a few years to feel ready — a new country, a new language, a new food culture — but in 2018 I launched Nutrition with Gui in Los Angeles. Today I help people lose weight without dieting, using the same evidence-based approach that changed my own life.
Add before you subtract.
No banned foods. No guilt. No extreme diets. I look at the full picture — your meals, your sleep, your stress, your culture — and we build something that fits your actual life.
My goal is simple: teach you how your body works so you can keep the results without needing another coach. Real food, sustainable habits, and the confidence to trust yourself around a plate.
